Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC)

Canada's Largest Manufacturing Consortium' and the 'Most Active Manufacturing Organization in North America', Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) is a unique not-for-profit organization of manufacturers, dedicated to facilitating member development towards greater global competitiveness, as a strong community infrastructure of business.

Founded in the mid-1980's and incorporated in 1997, EMC has grown to become 'Canada's Largest Manufacturing Consortium.'  

Currently EMC is responsible for contributing primary expertise and industry knowledge resources towards the success of over 900+ member manufacturers, employing hundreds of thousands of Canadians, in 52 consortium regions and spanning nearly 200 communities throughout Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Canada's Economic Action Plan

This is the Government's response to the deepest global recession since the Second World War. In January 2009, the Government introduced one of the most comprehensive stimulus packages in the industrialized world. At that time, there was considerable concern about the potential effect of the global recession on the Canadian economy and on Canadian workers and families.

Actions taken under Canada's Economic Action Plan have helped ensure the worst of the global recession lies behind us. However, while a recovery has begun, it remains fragile and too many Canadians remain out of work. This is why the Government will follow through on its commitment to Canadians and its G7 and G20 partners to deliver Year 2 of the stimulus plan.
